Who we are:

Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest 100% physician-owned and managed practices in the country. Our team includes 190 radiologists, 40 advanced practice providers, and more than 200 employees providing administrative support in our wholly-owned subsidiary STARS. ARS provides services to 8 healthcare systems and more than 75 different sites across the state of Michigan.

We are committed to remaining independent and providing the highest level of care to our patients. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.

Why is our practice unique?

We strive to offer the best of both worlds: private practice flexibility and compensation with academic options. In affiliation with the Michigan State University College of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor residents and pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled. We find that entrepreneurial-minded physicians who value involvement in decision-making and developing our business strategy fit well. We have outstanding IT infrastructure and 24/7 help desk support and utilize Intelerad PACS, PowerScribe 360, and Clario.

Compensation/Benefits/Vacation/Schedule:

We offer a highly competitive compensation package, recruitment incentive (sign-on bonus), and opportunities for additional shifts on a month-to-month basis, strong vacation time (13 weeks), and benefits package (125K value). Physicians have no out-of-pocket expense for medical/dental/vision coverage and enjoy an $18,000 medical reimbursement account annually. We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan ($69,000 in 2024). We are continually striving to improve the compensation/work/life balance for our physicians. Our “standard schedule” includes 39 weeks of work, 11 weekends and 13 weeks of vacation. We also offer “alternate track” positions which are 7 days on and 7 days off.

Fully Remote or Michigan-Based Positions:

We are headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan but serve clients all over the state. Ranked number 20 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2023 “Best Places to Live in the U.S.A,” Grand Rapids is Michigan’s second-largest city. We have many radiologists living in greater Grand Rapids but also metro Detroit and smaller cities such as Kalamazoo, Saginaw, and Lansing. If you prefer the beach, Holland, St. Joseph, and Ludington are located on the Lake Michigan shoreline and considered some of Michigan’s most popular vacation destinations. We can offer the combination of a fulfilling career and quality of life.
