Position Summary
The Interventional Radiologist will be responsible for performing image-guided minimally invasive procedures as well as providing comprehensive care before and after these procedures. This includes patient education, obtaining informed consent, and conducting follow-up care. The role requires a high level of expertise in various interventional methods, effective patient management, and collaboration with other medical professionals to ensure the best possible care for patients. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional clinical skills, a strong commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures utilizing imaging modalities such as fluoroscopy and ultrasound.
- Conduct consultations and see patients following vascular ultrasound studies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards related to radiation safety and infection control.
- Participate in the development of protocols and guidelines for interventional radiology practices.
- Provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedure care, including patient education, consent, and follow-up.
Education and Experience
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of a diagnostic radiology residency program and an interventional radiology fellowship program. - Board certification from the American Board of Radiology.
- A valid medical license to practice medicine in the state of Texas.
Experience in radiofrequency ablations and embolization of the prostate, uterine, genicular, and hemorrhoidal arteries is preferred but not required.
